This Privacy Policy explains how Ashmit, an individual proprietor trading as Tarus ("Tarus", "we", "us", "our"), collects, uses, stores and protects information when you use Vestor, our desktop inventory and billing software, and the related website, accounts and services (together, the "Service").
By using the Service you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Who We Are
Tarus, run by Ashmit, an individual proprietor, Roorkee, Uttarakhand, India.

2. Information That Stays on Your Computer
Vestor works offline. Your shop data (items, stock, bills, sales, suppliers, customer details you type in, shop details and settings) is stored in a database file on your own computer. We do not receive this data unless you use an AI feature or another online feature, as explained in section 4. Backups created by the app are also saved on your computer. You are responsible for keeping your computer and backups safe.
3. Information We Collect When You Create an Account
An account is needed for subscription features such as the AI assistant. We collect and store:
- Your email address and a securely hashed password (we cannot read your password).
- Your subscription status, plan period and payment reference numbers.
- One-time verification and password-reset codes, stored in hashed form and expired after a short time.
- Usage records: the date and time of each AI request, which feature was used, the size of the request and reply (token counts), and its cost to us. We use these to apply daily limits, to run and bill the Service, to keep it reliable and to give you support.
- Activity records: events such as sign-up, sign-in, email verification, subscription started, renewed or cancelled, errors, and the app version you use, together with the approximate country worked out from your connection.
- Technical logs such as your IP address, which we use for security, to stop abuse and to limit repeated attempts.
We do not track what you do inside the offline parts of the app, and we do not read your shop database.
4. Information Sent When You Use Online Features
When you use the AI assistant, forecasts, supplier drafts or web search, the app sends your request, and the shop information needed to answer it (for example item names, stock levels, sales figures or supplier details that the assistant looks up), to our server. Our server forwards it to an AI provider (currently Google Gemini or Anthropic Claude, depending on our configuration) and returns the answer to you. For web search, your search query is sent to a search provider.
- We do not sell this information.
- The app does not upload your database. Only what is needed for the request you make is sent.
- AI and search providers process the data under their own terms and privacy policies.
- The AI assistant never sees your account password or login token.
- We keep usage records (section 3), not the full text of your conversations, on our servers.
5. Payments
Payments are handled by Razorpay. You enter your card, UPI or bank details on Razorpay's secure page. We never see or store your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN or bank password. Razorpay tells us that a payment succeeded and gives us subscription and reference details. Razorpay's own privacy policy applies to the information you give them.
6. Other Service Providers
We use trusted providers to run the Service: Cloudflare (hosting and database), Resend (verification and password-reset emails), Razorpay (payments), and the AI and search providers named above. They receive only the information needed to do their job.

To create and secure your account; to provide, support and improve the Service; to apply usage limits; to process payments and communicate important service notifications.
